I have been in the IT industry with 28 years of experience, mainly focusing on the insurance/takaful industry for the last 25 years. I have been in the CIO role for the past 13 years, with experience ranging from managing the entire information technology lifecycle from core system development to web development, end-user computing, infrastructure management, IT operations management, IT procurement, and IT risk management. I see the role of a CIO is to align the IT team with the company’s vision, mission and strategy. With my vast and well-rounded knowledge of information technology, I have managed to lead a team of 160 IT professionals who were instrumental in strengthening the business and boosting business growth. With the latest trend of digital initiatives, IT has been the pillar in providing solutions and deliverables to allow the ability to go online for new business and renewal business, which were crucial during the pandemic lockdown periods. One of my key strengths is ensuring that the IT strategy can add value to the business and be aligned with the business strategy. Previously won Share Guide ICT Award 2017 for IT Digital Strategy, and 2018 Top 5 PLC Corporate prestigious awarded by PIKOM.I hold a Master of Science (Management) from Asia e-University, Kuala Lumpur, and a Bachelor of Information Technology (Business Information System) from HELP Institute, Kuala Lumpur, with affiliation from Charles Sturt University, Australia.
