I have a passion for the competitive world that few can match, No matter what I'm watching, if people are competing I'm interested. Whether it's the core four American Sports, or less common ones like figure skating and volleyball, or even video games, I love to consume and discuss that world. The sports world is an ever-changing discipline, and a fast-paced one, where something pretty exciting is happening every day. And sports has so much more than just the here and now. The story lines that back each team or competitor, and the history and tradition that is steeped in all sports are honestly the best parts. As a History major at OSU, the past has always been of great interest to me, and sports have some of the most interesting histories in the world. I want to tell the stories of competition, both the past, and the now, which will one day become history. That's why I joined the Ohio Media School, so that I could further that dream. I've written a lot, both academic studies, like my college thesis on the decline of boxing in the 20th and 21st centuries, data driven analyses on how often NBA lottery picks develop three point shooting, and more fun pieces extolling the virtues of an old video game in Super Smash Brothers Melee. After my education at OMS, I've worked two contract writing jobs, with Vox Media's SportsNation affiliate, as well as NBCUniversal's NBCSportsEdge platform. They've given me professional experience, working in a team, writing for both news aggregation and articles on a variety of topics, often with a betting focus. Sports betting is still growing, and NBC has given me the opportunity to be on the forefront of that world.
