Volunteer technician for independent radio station based at the University of Glasgow. Starting in January of 2015, advanced to position of Head of Technical and IT in September 2017.Key Responsibilities:• Technical support for diverse range of radio content• Management of audio stream, sound engineering and equipment repairs.• Co-ordination and planning of music-based fundraising events, working in production design (sound and lighting), as well as budgeting and organization.Key Achievements:• This role demanded a great deal of dedication and self-motivation, and helped me to develop strong leadership skills. • Role required the ability to work collaboratively with other volunteers, as well as educating, training and supporting new team members.• Developed many organizational and technical skills including sound engineering and production design.

Industry placement as part of final year of degree programme and Masters thesis. Placement involved 6-month relocation to Leuven in Belgium. Worked with researchers in 3D modelling and reliability group, with project focused on research, development and testing novel optical metrology method for MEMS. Key Responsibilities:• Develop and testing experimental metrology method.• Design and production of experimental apparatus using CAD and electronic hardware. • Automated software analysis and visualization of experimental data in Python.• Develop hypothesis and exhibit function of new technique to other researchers in group. • Perform comparative study with existing metrology tools (white-light interferometry and stylus profilometry) to ascertain success of new technique.• Presentation of experimental findings in Masters thesis.Key Achievements:• Successfully developed and presented novel metrology technique, working in a self-directed with little outside guidance in research areas that were entirely new to me at the time (optics, MEMS).• Developed personal knowledge and technical skills in a number of areas, including: data analysis, optics and metrology, CAD, and MEMS.• Developed project management skills and presented timely project outlines and updates, ultimately producing final Masters thesis containing results and analysis.
