Working within Alfred Health's 2 year graduate program, undertaking my first rotation from February to November of 2023 at Alma Road Community Care Unit, a psychosocial rehab facility for clients living with significant mental health diagnoses. My second and current rotation is with the hospital's Community Care Team, due to finish in early 2025.Both rotations have helped me develop various skills as a social worker and mental health clinician, including case management, psychosocial interventions and clinical mental health skills, working with clients with a wide range of demographics, diagnoses and goals.

Working in the installation, maintenance and eventual deinstallation of various art exhibitions:- Art Handling: Assisting in the moving and installation of high profile works of art, (handling crates, hanging didactics and frames, etc.)- Exhibition Lighting: Planning and installing appropriate lighting for artworks, gaining knowledge of various types of light (halogenic, LED etc.), fixtures and lenses.- Accustomed to working at height in ladders and scissor lifts, always maintaining OH&S principles in my work.- Able to work well under pressure, handling often fragile and invaluable artefacts, and working on exhibition setups with tight deadlines for tasks.- Able to function as part of team, with careful coordination and communication being vital when planning and executing movements of artworks being vital.- Ability to listen and learn intricate new skills quickly, and to accept all feedback following the execution of tasks.

- Working with supervision by accomplished and experienced social worker, Kate Incerti in the Community Building and Inclusion department, I learned to the role of a housing supportworker for an LGA council.- I kept an active case load over 3 months, conducting intake interviews with clients, making assessments and setting and actioning agreed upon goals, incorporating various theories inmy work, such as critical and systems.- Learned about eligibility and processes pertaining to the Victorian Housing Register, also coming to understand the types of accommodation available and subsequently the need for greater diversity and volume of public housing in Victoria.- I was present for weekly meetings between different workers in CoPP, as well as community organisations, such as Port Phillip Zero, networking with other workers and discussing currentproblems with them.- Learned about the need for debriefing and critical reflection on a regular schedule, understanding the demands social work requires, and how challenging these can sometimes be.- Observed the importance of advocacy and policy practice as a social worker, having collaborated with colleagues in designing initial policy proposals.
