About Patrick Oden

Patrick Oden is an Affiliate Associate Professor in Theology and Church History and Research Associate Professor of Theology at Fuller Seminary, teaching 5-6 courses a year. He’s the author of four books, most recently Hope for the Oppressor: Discovering Freedom Through Transformative Community, the editor of a couple others, and has written a number of articles on various topics in theology, ministry, and church history.Patrick is a sixth generation Californian, married to Amy Oden, a worship leader and currently getting her MA in Theology at Fuller. His daughter Vianne, was born in 2012, and shares a birthday with Jürgen Moltmann. His son Oliver was born in 2014, and shares a birthday with Harry Potter. Patrick is an ordained minister in The Wesleyan Church and serves pastorally in his work at Fuller and in guest preaching for area congregations.
