I was born and raised in the oak speckled hills of the East Bay. Pursuing my hiking, photography, and landscape drawing hobbies in this beautiful area taught me the importance of protecting the natural world. I have dedicated my life to furthering this protection and am seeking out people and organizations pursuing the same goal.I currently work at the Blackman lab with a wonderful team of driven plant scientists seeking to understand the kaleidoscopic complexity of plant genetics. Although this complexity puzzled me at first, I adapted to the lab's detail-oriented procedures and rapidly integrated with my team. I am incredibly grateful for the data management, small team leadership, and remote work communication skills I've learned at the lab.I been leveraging my time at UC Berkeley to grow my data based environmental science skills. For instance, I've become enamored with remote sensing technology and have been taking all the classes I can on the subject. I have quickly become proficient at image analysis and map making in ENVI, Google Earth Engine, and ArcGIS Pro. In addition, my environmental modeling skills have been rapidly improving and I am now comfortable with linear programing and performing cost benefit analyses in Microsoft Excel.My love of the environment, team driven mindset, and ability to quickly and enthusiastically learn make for a potent combination.
