Building the lighthouse community through assistive technology; pairing people of all ages with tools to help them live their everyday lives with ease. I work with vendors to build our product base and am always looking to create new relationships with companies interested in accessibility.

In a regular day, I may find myself doing the following...• Consulting with managers to determine the role of an IT system at CLH• Researching emerging technologies and make decisions based on efficiency and effectiveness • Preparing analyses of cost/benefits of new investments in infrastructure• Designing and developing new systems by choosing and configuring hardware and software• Overseeing the installation and configuration of new systems for customization• Conducting testing to ensure that the systems work as expected• Running accessibility audits on systems or applications• Training the system end users and write technical manuals• Prioritizing and scheduling problems for resolution• Recording, tracking, and documenting the help desk request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution• Applying diagnostic utilities to aid in troubleshooting• Identifying and learns appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the CLH, including assistive technology• Performing hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including installing and upgrading software, installing hardware• Testing fixes to ensure problem has been adequately resolved• Performing post-resolution follow-ups to help requests• Evaluating documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems• Developing help sheets and frequently asked questions lists for end users• Maintaining production and development of web site, internet, and intranet environments• Collaborating between departments and provide technical assistance pertaining to agency's web site including web design and applications

Worked in summer of 2019, 2018, and 2016 as a camp counselor for two week-long sessions at a summer camp for blind and visually impaired teens from the surrounding suburbs, who are staying in the city for a week long camp that is built to teach them vital mobility skills in an urban environment. Counseling required proper and conscious use of language as well as confidence in skill for orientation and mobility.

In this program with the Lighthouse, I briefly worked as a supervisor to a young man who is legally blind at a Walgreens in Aurora, IL. In this program, the Lighthouse matches blind/visually impaired teens with jobs in order to get them into the work force early so that they can develop unfamiliar or necessary skills for employment that they could struggle with on their own. After working the summer at their place of work, the objective is to get our teens hired for the long-term.

Acted as a first point of contact for students, staff, and faculty experiencing technical issues within three chemistry buildings. Interacted with entire Penn technology infrastructure within the College of Arts and Sciences.

Part of my role at ThinkCERCA involved transitioning an application to an Object-oriented CSS system, Javascript & React application development, and Ruby on Rails application development. Within my responsibilities, I did things such as...• Paired with another developer to work on a feature based on wireframes or fully designed comps.• Created a new GraphQL mutation.• Organized a quick google hangout with a designer to clarify a product interaction.• Participated in agile ceremonies: daily standups, grooming/estimation sessions, sprint planning, and retrospectives.• Refactored and deleted outdated code while upgrading gems and npm packages.• Collaborated with others to break down a new feature into cards for the team to work on.• Determined the origin of a production bug and deployed a fix.• Reviewed another developer’s pull request.• Met with a Data Scientist to document the flow of data through the application.• Discussed technical limitations and opportunities with product stakeholders while outlining potential new features.

In a regular day, I provide valued information technology advice and support to Wharton's administrative staff. We partner with departments across all of Wharton to provide on-demand technical leadership, delivering services and finding solutions that help advance the business of the school.
