This role will support test code requirements gathering activities in accordance to analytical, scientific and regulatory requirements although this remit is being phased out and the role will play more of an importance in strategic analysis of code design. In addition, the role will act as a cross functional liaison between Laboratory Experts, Project Services and Test Code Creation teams. This role will manage technical and analytical queries raised during pre- and post- database configuration phase and this will be a significant remit for the initial role in this group. The role will also support the Project Services study team during database design phase by addressing queries surrounding the technical aspects of the database functionality with the tests added for a study.

My role is a new one within the organization as my remit is to consult with the rest of the study setup managers to make sure the genomics requirements are correctly considered during the setup and programming stage.

Laboratory operations manager responsible for planning the work schedule based on services and timelines required by clients and the resources available, reviewing the results for quality control and putting together and releasing data packages to the clients.Prioritize and plan the actual daily activities of 7 employees to facilitate the completion of the services requested by any of the ~200 different clients.Review client sample data acquired from requested assays, detect and investigate any quality control issues which may affect the results and implement solutions as well as mechanisms for error prevention.Interact with the finance manager and sales department to accurately invoice clients for the services rendered.Interact with the IT department to suggest or request database changes as well as process changes, the quality assurance manager for documentation or safety requirements, the operations director for facility maintenance and repairs as well as equipment validation.

Dec. 2006Study design consultant and assay platform expert (Affymetrix GeneChip) with operations management roles as well as output data analysis, customer interaction and data capture responsibilities involving between 6 - 8 studies per year. Analyzed and then interactively collaborated with the client to uncover a potential additional valuable pathway for a compound by identifying changes within key genes thereby providing another disease-prevention mechanism.Organized the plan then analyzed and reviewed all the data from a thorough test experiment which led to the identification of an optimal method for using rodent blood on the Affymetrix platform. This opened the door to the use of hundreds of samples. Created a Microsoft Access database to capture sample and experiment annotation that was not being captured by other internal systems. Co-planned, reviewed data and delivered an optimized and more accurate method for processing and analyzing gene expression samples and data which proved to be from 5% to 10% more accurate.Delivered final analyses for assigned projects which included lists of biomarkers, primary and secondary target gene effects and other formatted assay results to the internal customers thereby providing technical expertise and time-savings.

Research laboratory technician supporting multiple investigators and projects which required many molecular biology skills and involved dosing and necropsy of animal models in chemical toxicological studies. Assigned the technical lead and presented results on a project to study the involvement of random microsatellite polymorphisms on spontaneous liver tumor development in a mouse model.Chaired the committee for procurement process restructuring in this organization which delivered a proposal that would have time savings of 30%-50%.
