I am the creative director of Impala Pictures and currently co-developing several new projects with Wild Pacific Media in Australia, supported by Screen Australia’s 2023/24 Enterprise Business program. I am also co-writer on a feature length documentary War of the Flowers for Le cinquième rêve and working with ZED on a new landmark series in China. Over the last two years I was also an executive producer on Brian Leith Productions The Future of Nature, a global environmental series for PBS, BBC Studios and Arte, as well as directing a major shoot for a DisneyNature feature, currently under NDA.Prior to this I was an executive producer and producer on China’s Wild Empire, The Age of Nature, Canada:Surviving the Wild North, Kalahari: Land of Secret Alliances, Wild Tales from the Farm and The Hidden Kingdoms of China for PBS, BBC, National Geographic, Arte, CCTV, France Televisions, bilibili, Smithsonian Channel and Love Nature. I was also executive producer on nine films for world leaders at the UN Climate Ambition Summit and a series of films for the BBC One Show.Between 1997 - 2017 I was a series producer, executive producer and producer/director in the BBC Natural History Unit and BBC Earth Films. I wrote and directed the theatrical film Enchanted Kingdom and giant screen Wild Africa 3D, produced the primates and birds episodes for the Sir David Attenborough BBC1 series Life, and was executive producer, series producer and producer on the place-based landmarks Thailand:Earth’s Tropical Paradise, Galápagos, Mexico: Earth's Festival of Life, Wild West, British Isles: A Natural History, Wild Europe and Wild Africa. In the early 90’s, as an independent and BBC producer, I also made many wildlife specials including Dune, Hokkaido: Garden of the Gods, Africa’s Paradise of Thorns, The Lions Share, Wings over the Serengeti, People of the Sea and Islands in the African Sky.My films have won the highest accolades in the industry including a Peabody award for film making excellence, two Best of Festival and three times Best Limited Series awards at Jackson Wild, four Wildscreen pandas, three Best of Festival awards at IWFF Missoula, as well as BAFTA, Emmy and RTS awards and nominations. I graduated from Leeds University with a first class honours degree in Zoology and am an Ambassador for Just a Drop, a member of BAFTA and a Vice President of Hospiscare in Devon.
