I started working at the Kirkwood Group in a temporary position to help them out over the busy Christmas period but it developed into a permanent role after a few weeks. I work as part of a team where our main job is to pick and pack orders for delivery to shops around Ireland and the UK.I also handle the quality control for new stock that comes into the warehouse and inspect it for flaws. If there are mistakes with any product I have to report it to management and find a solution so that we can still sell it to retailers.My other duties include maintenance on the warehouse office computers and printers and troubleshooting issues as they arise.

I worked as a technician at Tech Smart for 2 years. I had a number of different roles from on site repairs and troubleshooting to office network installations. Tech Smart was a PC repair and small office system installations company. My main roles at the company were:> On site troubleshooting of equipment> Repairing faulty PC's and laptops where possible> Advising on possible solutions or replacements on devices or peripherals that were beyond repairing> Instillation of AV equipment for use in conference rooms> Installing servers in officesI mostly dealt one on one with customers to troubleshoot any issues they were having with their devices. If the devices had technical faults I would try fix them on site or take them away for repairs. I also assisted in office network installations where I would install a server for use as a LAN and handle the voice over IP system. I've also set up AV equipment for use in boardrooms.

At Allens I started as a shop assistant working in a team of 15 other people where through my ability to deal with different situations and take care of customers I was made manager of both the warehouse and one of the shops three departments after 6 months.As the manager of my department I was responsible for driving sales through promotions, displays and friendly customer service. I had to train new staff on the day to day operations of the shop and make sure they were an effective member of the sales team. If there were complaints about faulty products from customers I had to be able resolve the issues in a manner that best suited both the customer and the shop.I was also responsible for dealing with reps from a number of companies and making sure that we had enough stock both in the shop and in the warehouse. The warehouse is where a large amount of the stock was kept and I had to keep track of the quantities we had and order new items as necessary.

I had to ensure the frames were made to the highest standard and that they were completed on time.It was also my responsibility to notify the manager when stokes were low so new stocks could be ordered and to do maintenance on the equipment to prevent any breakdowns.
