An ability to think outside the box of standard procedures has seen me bring my creative skill sets and experience in leadership and communication to driving progressive development within Incident Management and Integrated Wildfire Management. In particular with regards addressing risk recognition, awareness and communications in order to bring about risk reduction. My time spent working in the creative industry allowed me to soak up the accumulated knowledge of all those I worked with, as well as observing how successful communications could draw a result from a target audience.My leadership experience developed from the time of being a prefect at school and into my earlier career directing photographic advertising shoots. This has since been fine tuned in more recent times through both Team Leadership and Division or Group Supervisor operational roles during wildfire suppression operations and assisting the development of companies as a Director, firstly with the Volunteer Wildfire Services (NPC), and more recently with Vulcan Wildfire Management and Vulcan Training. My skill sets are: Strategic and Operational Response Planning, Course Content Development, Writing, Public Relations, Marketing, Team Building and Business Network Development.
