Workday’s Object Management System (OMS) is the distributed, MVCC database responsible for storing and accessing employee data; running read and write transactions, and performing complex business logic for customers to manage their businesses, like running payroll or processing W-2’s.• Led project to scale transaction service by decomposing transactions into atomic units and allowing multiple processes to run concurrently across JVMs, which lead to a throughput of 500M transactions an hour per customer• Drove product strategy and development to target and remove vulnerabilities from the monolithic architecture, which resulted in the increase of the contractual SLA from 99.5% to 99.7%• Defined and executed on the Highly Available Committer project, which allowed multi-JVM tenants to commit to the MySQL while maintaining a serializable isolation level

Workday’s Technical Associate Product Manager (TAPM) Rotation Program is an opportunity for those breaking into product management to work on several teams across the company to learn about the role, understand different products and their technology stacks, and an opportunity to engage with customers in different capacities. I spent time working on Workday’s Cloud Platform (WCP), the Business Process Framework (BPF), and the Object Management System (OMS).• WCP - Owned the development of a JetBrains plug-in that allowed external developers to build 3rd party applications and deploy them directly to customer tenants, supporting applications or use cases that would be otherwise unsupported• BPF - Developed the early development of the Workday Journeys product, defining the HRIS Admin configuration flow and the information architecture that would later be delivered to customers• OMS - Worked with stakeholders across Workday’s HCM and Financials application teams to deliver on the Distributed Concurrent Updates, which allowed application teams to run their business logic across multiple JVMs concurrently
