Expert in the use of electronic navigation on the Voyage Management System (VMS). Operated extensively with VMS in planning and executing all aspects of navigation during six complex missions vital to national security.-Responsible for the interpretation and execution of extensive operational plans for sea and air assets during multinational exercises and Submarine Command Course operations.

-Responsible for managing over 100 staff, 400 student personnel, and over 18 million dollars of advanced equipment and training simulators. Developed procedures and policies for electronic navigation systems for submarine operational authorities. Conducted in depth reviews of submarine operations and tactics providing extensive analysis of lessons learned to support national tasking.-Responsible for the development and administration of an innovative training program for current and future submarine leaders. Effectively prepared and delivered one-on-one instruction, group instruction and conducted training using video telephone conferencing.-Responsible for planning and executing a rigorous schedule for over 300 current and prospective Chief Petty Officers designed to support, train and integrate over 80 newly selected Chief Petty Officers. Coordinated all facets of mental and physical development while providing personal and professional counseling to ensure a smooth transition.

-Responsible for training, mentoring and developing over 20 personnel assigned to his department. As Command Career Counselor, responsible for the professional development and counseling of over 140 personnel earning Command Retention Excellence Award for Submarine Squadron ELEVEN. Responsible for coordination of all department activities including preventative and corrective maintenance, critical system installations, pre-deployment preparations, training programs and staff work schedules.-Responsible for planning and safely executing complex surfaced and submerged transits through inland and international waters during two Western Pacific deployments. Planned and executed all aspects of four complex missions vital to national security.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

-Responsible for supervising, training and mentoring up to 180 junior and senior personnel concurrently. As a United States Navy Representative, served as the primary liaison between Navy officials and state, local and community leaders. Led a division of over 60 personnel, conducting initial and continuing training, performance evaluations, task delegation, awards presentations and disciplinary actions.-Responsible for counseling, support, funeral arrangements, memorial services and benefits to the family of a former shipmate and pentagon victim after September 11, 2001. Liaised with numerous private and public agencies and organizations to ensure all the family’s needs were met.
