Engineers play a pivotal role in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges. While brilliant individual skill is crucial, it’s not enough. The complexity and uncertainty that characterize the world today drives the need for excellence at the team level, and excellent engineering teams start with excellent engineering leaders.Despite engineers being some of the best and brightest people around, it can be incredibly tough for many engineers to make the transition to leadership. Most of us enter into leadership roles without any kind of preparation. The result? Stress and burnout on the part of the leader, and poor performance and frustration on the part of the team.I started The Engineering & Leadership Project to fix all that. Our goal is to help engineers build the skills they need to transition seemlessly into leadership and management roles, and to support their development once they’re established. We offer a podcast, articles, courses, training, coaching, and consulting to help individuals and organizations level up their technical leadership and management skills.
