Verso is a global consulting lab based in San Francisco that supports media organizations, non-profits, and business leaders as they step into the AI age. Verso was founded by Kaveh Waddell and me as John S. Knight Journalism Fellows at Stanford.

As a John S. Knight fellow at Stanford University, I researched the impact of AI on the information ecosystem, particularly on the media, journalism and elections. I collaborated with computer scientists to create AI tools for journalists, worked on AI policy and ethics, learned to code, and built skills in entrepreneurship and business development.Projects:- Built prototypes of AI tools for reporters and editors with my JSK colleague Kaveh Waddell- Developed AI workshops and training programs for journalists- Explored AI for leadership training, developed my own chatbot to practice difficult conversationsClasses- Programming Methodology: Introduction to Python (Computer Science)- Forbidden Design: AI Policy and the Future of History (Design School)- Shaping America's Future: Exploring the Key Issues on Our Path to the 2024 Elections- Entrepreneurship: Formation of New Ventures (Graduate School of Business)- Conversations in Management (Graduate School of Business)- Beginner's Improv (Theater & Performance Studies)In addition to my AI projects, I worked with journalism students and educators in Northern California to explore the possibilities and challenges of news journalism on TikTok.

In this role, I led a social team of six producers and editors, developed and executed our off-platform strategy and oversaw our news coverage on social media, including breaking news. My daily responsibilities included the creation and curation of news content for our social platforms. I planned our coverage, assigned editors and producers to stories, gave feedback, and also regularly produced text, video and visual content myself. In my time at ORF, I produced hundreds of social videos, many of them in vertical video format.My projects included:TikTok (@zeitimbild)- Launched the account in October 2021, grew it to 360,000 followers in 12 months- Majority of our audience is younger than 20, huge popularity with teenagers- Coverage of a wide range of issues, from politics and current events to finance, entertainment and online culture- Creative short-form videos that are native to TikTok and use the platform's visual languageInstagram (@zeitimbild)- Launched in 2019, this is now the largest news account on Instagram in Austria (1 million followers)- More than 30 million video views and 8 million interactions per month (on average)- Strategic use of video, text, photos, graphics, data journalism and interactive storytelling

At the University of Applied Sciences in Vienna, I taught courses in English and German on a wide range of aspects of digital journalism. These included social publishing, fact-checking, UGC verification, mobile reporting and podcasting.

As an intern, I planned and implemented the first off-platform strategy for news at ORF and founded the social team.
