Key EngagementsSenior Integration Test Lead - Housing SA As the Senior Integration Test lead at Housing SA working on the mainframe upgrade, Patrick was responsible for the testing associated with the integrating of the new system with external providers. He planned and performed the interface testing across dozens of external interfaces, authored Interface Test Agreements for external vendors to establish and agree on how external testing would be performed and close worked with those external vendors to perform end to end testing. Patrick’s work enabled many showstopping interface and integration issues to be debugged and resolved during the test and integration phases of the project thereby allowing the program to proceed towards system Go Live. SA Health – Senior Test Lead As the Senior Test Specialist on multiple projects, Patrick worked within the existing SA Health testing framework to test manage and build project specific test strategies appropriate to the unique needs of each project. On his projects, Patrick test managed and lead all aspects of testing including test strategizing, test planning, test development, text execution, test reporting, management of entry and exit criteria and defect management across all project phases including System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, Performance and Load Testing and Production Verification Testing. This included the creation of project specific templates for User Acceptance testing.Patrick also was highly influential in change management aspects of solutions and helped ensure that the relevant hospital staff were positively supported and assisted via floor walking during go lives. Key EngagementsTest Manager at a large government education departmentPatrick was engaged as Test Manager on a complex Business Intelligence (BI) ‘big data’ project which extracted, transformed and loaded data from seventeen sources into a single Data Warehouse, multiple Data Marts, a new data CUBE an developed new reports for a SharePoint Portal. Patrick managed a small team of testers, updated test strategies and plans, scheduled testing activities, oversaw all phases of testing from Unit Test to UAT, was the projects HPQC expert, developed and executed test cases, lead defect management triage, reported on testing progress to management and support any other testing tasks as necessary. The result of this successful engagement was that by the end of the secondment, the testing activities were on track to achieve successful completion of SIT and UATTest Manager/Senior Test Analyst at a large mining clientPatrick has provided end to end test management expertise to multiple projects at this large mining client and has performed all aspects of the test management from the original test strategy, test development, test execution, defect management, stakeholder management and ‘Go Live’ into production. The Vendor of the portal is using an Agile Methodology with SCRUM and to align with this the project and the SMS provided test team employed Agile methodologies to manage the testing with the goal of 'leading by example' both in terms of testing processes and the use of Agile.

Provided Senior Test Engineering expertise to a key development project within the JORN Program. Performed the planning, development, execution and maintenance of System, Subsystem and Component Test procedures across the entire development lifecycle. During this time the test documentation and activities were consistently delivered according to schedule and the testing results have met customer expectations, thereby allowing the tested artefacts to be successfully deployed onto the Over the Horizon Radar that is used by the Australia Defence Force

Project Echidna is a $150Million project for the provision of a sophisticated Counter Measures Dispensing System for fitting on multiple Aircraft (eg Blackhawk and Chinook helicopters) for the Commonwealth of Australia’s Armed forces. The System consists of a central controller as well as a number of other Subsystems provided by external vendors.Roles:My principle role on Project Echidna is to provide and support Integration and Testing of the core system software. Key components of this role are to plan, develop, execute and maintain software test procedures of the system software. This requires a detailed understanding of the software requirements and other issues associated with the test environment. All this has been performed inline with rigorous company and military standard for software and document development As author of the Software Test Plan and co-Author of the Software Test Description, using DOORS, I developed a thorough understanding of the software requirements and practical issues related to the software and supporting subsystems. Change management was a key issue due to requirement churn and a somewhat fluid project schedule. However in the face of the challenges I have performed formal testing which was witnessed by the customer for which the result of which was acceptance of the software version, positive customer feedback and overall confidence from the customer in the forthcoming cycle of software development. Additionally I have provided key support to the System level Integration and Test team in the areas of software and system functionality and operation of supporting systems (Emulators, Bus Analysers and Configuration tools) and overall system to the system level integration.
