I worked for over 20 years at AXA insurance carrying out a number of roles, including managing a highly successful motor claims team that regularly exceeded targets. I was a referral point for junior members of staff and was also responsible for training new starters. I interviewed prospective employees and the decision as to whether to employ rested with me. In addition to extensive experience gained at a technical and managerial level, I have more recently undertaken administrative jobs and have spent much time assisting customers and developing children.KEY STRENGTHSAs a Team Leader I had the reputation of being firm but fair and engendered loyalty and trust from my team. My breadth of knowledge and experience meant that I was a respected referral point for both junior members of staff and my peers.I was able to deal with confidential information in a sensitive fashion and I was able to handle disciplinary issues fairly and confidently. I was also responsible for training out a new computer system to the entire department of 80 people. This was a seconded role that lasted 6 months. The majority of the training took place in a classroom environment, but also included one-on-one coaching. Following the secondment, I remained the department representative for the system and regularly 'fed back' staff issues and attended update workshops and discussions.I dealt with Personal Injury Claims with a value up to £50,000 which clearly necessitates detailed understanding and close following of company and legal processes and procedures.
