I started as a Foster home because I found a litter of kittens in my backyard. I loved it! When the president stepped down, I took over in 2017. In 2021, with the help of 35 loving foster homes and a dynamite team of 12 TNR partners, we successfully TNR’d 1000+ feral and community cats and placed 286 cats and kittens into adoptive homes.

Lutherbrook Child and Adolescent Treatment Center is a 56 bed residential treatment facility for emotionally traumatized children with behavioral disorders. As a Child Care Worker, I worked in a cottage of 6 teenaged girls. I focused on providing a home environment that was consistent and calm so the children could focus on their therapy. As an Outreach Coordinator/Case Manager I managed the legal and state related relationships such as DCFS workers, GALs, probation officers, school registration, etc… along with biological or adoptive family members. Attended court, supervised visitations. As Business Office Manager/Office Supervisor I managed a team of department heads for Food Services and Maintenance/Facilities and a team of 3 office staff. Our campus consisted of 56 children and ~ 150 staff. There were five buildings on campus ranging from 10-100 years old, each with their own unique needs. Our food service group provided all meals for the children and staff on duty. This includes lunches for the school on campus. We maintained all food service sanitation, state and federal requirements for this type of food provider. I negotiated with vendors, delivery services, repair services, etc… to ensure we received the best prices and services. I developed and maintained a Medicaid Fee-for-Service database that enabled staff to automate submitting service encounters. I oversaw advertising,scheduling and interviewing for campus employees. I over saw both timekeeping/payroll and the records and filing staff. In my years at Lutherbrook I did and experienced so many wonderful things and a few really terrible ones. It was the hardest place to work for, but also the most rewarding in my career. I love hearing from the kids that I worked with and learning how their stories turned out.
