Coordinate national, state and local events that create opportunities for dialogue and share best practices for diversity and inclusion and sustainable excellence including: National Diversity Conference, and system-wide diversity signature programs like the Inclusive Excellence Luncheon. Develop and deliver educational programs that empower faculty, staff and students to embrace and manage diversity. Support system-wide presidential advisory councils and committees aligning their initiatives with university objectives and community and workforce demands. Serve as the President’s liaison for the USF Latin Community Advisory Committee, an external group of professionals and community leaders who provide guidance to the USF President. Oversee ADA coordinator position and DIEO’s duties, responsibilities and activities associated with advocacy and support for individuals with disabilities. Oversee the community-building Latino Scholarship program, now in its 29th year, which provides scholarships and mentorship to talented first-generation Latino students with financial-need; establishes partnerships between the university and the corporate community; and fosters relations with 500+ alumni. Created the USF Undocumented Scholarship to benefit students who are undocumented now in its 7th year. Serve on the Tampa Mayor's Hispanic Advisory Council focused on showcasing the economic impact of Latinos in our city and nation and create education access and scholarship opportunities for Tampa Bay students.
