META is a professional organization comprised of technology administrators and specialists in Montana supporting PreK-12 education. In late 2012 and after two years of planning, META was formally organized and officially adopted and recognized as an affiliate of the School Administrators of Montana (SAM).As a founding member of META, I helped coordinate efforts across the state to align stakeholders, draft founding documents, and present the META vision to SAM members to garner the necessary votes for affiliation.Currently, as a member of the Executive Committee, I sit as "First Elected Past President" and assist the President and President Elect, along with the other nine board members, in steering the META organization.

As a Cabinet member (most senior administrator), I sit as the direct adviser to the Superintendent of Schools.In my Director role, I am responsible for leading and managing the technology staff (teachers, central data systems, and field technicians). I am responsible for building the technology roadmap.As the head of the department, I build the annual budget and present it to the Board of Trustees, answering any questions and modifying as appropriate. I also work to educate the organization on instructional technology trends as well as technology-related 21st century learning advancements.I am the throat-to-choke for computers, networks, Internet connectivity, faxes, servers, ed-tech hardware, all software, phone systems, all central technology systems (email, website, business systems) and pretty much everything else that has a microchip in it.
