Some lessons from change/transformation management with The Match Factory:1. Need to increase creativity and flexibility to keep pace with rapidly changing reality;2. Developing new mindsets will permanently alter the way leadership is experienced and accomplished, helping to keep pace with changing dynamics that are changing beyond our collective development;3. You've got to discover the hidden assumptions - this is true for both the management and the employee groups to be successful, moving from dependent/independent to interdependent ways of working and executing. Unexpressed or unexamined expectations and assumptions drive more activity than you might realize.4. Organizational change requires leaders to change. Self-awareness and openness to personal transformation is on pace with actual organizational transformation achieved.

The Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota creates art experiences that spark discovery, critical thinking, and transformation, linking the University and the community.Since its origin in 1934, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum has been a teaching museum for the University of Minnesota. Today, education remains central to the museum’s mission to make the arts accessible to the University and public communities. I work directly with major donors to connect passion with possibility, inspire generosity, and support greatness through the provocative exhibitions, collection and activities of the Weisman Art Museum.

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area

Organized and led outdoor adventure trips and experiences for women including hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, snowshoeing, winter camping, etc. Unfortunately, this national platform shuttered its work in local U.S. chapters to focus on international travel exclusively in 2019.

St. Paul, Mn

Provided strategic oversight to all Housing, Agricultural Business Development and Economic & Community Development programs, as well as agency-wide program evaluation and all employee professional development training and assessment process design. HAP is the only refugee-led organization in the country that services all Southeast Asian, East African and other New American and asylee populations with culturally responsive products and services in 13 languages. HAP's agricultural business development programs include providing access to land for refugee farmers, creating market opportunities and providing business education specific to agricultural business development. I oversaw the development of a Community Development Financial Institution (to lend $2 million annually), establishing HAP as a community-based, multi-cultural lender and business incubator, increasing access to capital for people of color. In the space of one year, we developed micro-enterprise lending with a loan pool of $1.3 million, funding 29 new and expanded small businesses ($375,000 in loan capital) and creating 81 new jobs in one year. At HAP, I had the privilege to work closely with Hmong, Karen, Bhutanese, Nepalese, Somali, and Oromo populations.

South Bend, Indiana Area

Development and implementation of large-scale community development initiative which gives people in poverty an opportunity to transform their lives. $52.5 million grant secured; additional endowment fundraising of $10 million; architectural design/development and construction of 110,000 square foot state of the art community center/rec-plex facility; program design, community collaboration development; finance and budgeting to support center; personnel planning and recruitment/hiring for 150 new jobs.

Northern Indiana

Supported seven local Salvation Army units in Northern Indiana region in the areas of major gifts, donor cultivation, board development, and public relations.

Provided consultation services in the areas of non-profit Development/Fundraising, Board Development and Project Management for special projects (Development of Red Shield Center in Englewood neighborhood of south Chicago).

Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area

Center specializing in homeless services and housing for men and women; services for women with special needs (mental health), chemical dependency residential treatment program, medical model detox, and transitional housing programs.

Greater St. Louis Area

Managed all facets of 200-room transitional housing facility in urban St. Louis, Missouri. Facility included full meal service (3 meals/day). Provided oversight of Kitchen, Maintenance, Management and Program staff.
