Relevant ExperienceEnjoy working with public. Have had experience working with Students @ Washburn University in the Student Health Clinic. I am the only R.N. in the clinic. I check students into the clinic, see students and evaluate and treat if applicable. I assist the Doctor with minor procedures, I assist patients with patient assistance programs if the are eligible. I triage patients both in the clinic and on the phone. I oversee refilling of prescriptions. I set up small clinics around campus to administer immunizations. I oversee the ordering of all medications. I document required immunizations. I perform physical exams. I do testing for std, ua infections, hcg and TB. I assist in reporting data to KS state labs, Ks Dept of contagious diseases. I also work closely with Shawnee County Health dept (well women exams, std, positive TB results and immunizations for travel abroad and flu epidemics). I do patient education on a single and group basis. I speak and work with many departments within Washburn University. I have also worked with most Topeka surgeons and a multitude of professionals from multiple disciplines.   I have experience with analytical thinking and ability to work independently and make decisions quickly and accurately.Experience working with people of all ages, education, social and cultural backgrounds. Experience with and ability to handle stressful situations on a daily basis.  Experience with numerous policies and procedures set by the institution, state and federal government.Current license is up to date and meets State regulations.Very much a patient advocates and enjoys working with the public.Specialties: 25 years of practice.
