Polaris Industries are a US multi national company that supply Off Road Vehicles and Indian Motorcycles to the Australian and NZ markets. Worked as their Financial Controller for Aus/NZ on a contract basis due to the sudden departure of the previous Controller while they looked for a permanent solution. I was responsible for all finance related activities including monthly financial results and reporting, and business performance analysis and reporting.

A manufacturing division of Tupperware Brands, I was responsible for restructuring and improving finance and operations of the local business. It also involved working with other global and regional manufacturing. marketing and product development teams to ensure the on cost and on time delivery of products to market.

Responsible for strategic changes to improve sales and profit growth of this direct selling cosmetics/skincare business. My key responsibility was to analyse the business performance and model, and reinvigorate the business and its independent salesforce members to stem the declining sales.• Analysed and implemented strategic changes to key areas of the business (Compensation Plan, Events and Promotional programs) which resulted in the stemming of previous years double digit sales decline and resulted in a sales increase the following 12 months.• Improved monthly marketing analysis of promotions (which accounted for 90% of our sales), to better analyse performance and maximise margins and volume through stronger price point information.

I was responsible for all Finance and IT functions across Sales/Marketing and Supply Chain divisions in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and New Zealand.• Increased company profitability by analyzing performance and working with all departments (Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain etc…) on identifying improved profitability opportunities. This resulted in the business achieving and exceeding it’s profit targets.• Managed 2 key property sales, each in the $7m - $10m range.• Improved KPI reporting and implementation of a reporting dashboard to better analyse business KPIs.• Improved relationships within the finance team and with the business, turning it around from the highest staff turnover department to the lowest within 12 months.• Successfully implemented new public e-commerce and consultant business management websites that processed over 90% of sales orders from the 50,000 independent consultant base and the general public.

Responsible for all Finance and IT functions including budgeting, forecasting, cost management, month end reporting, statutory and legal requirements , reliability of IT systems etc..... for Diecraft Australia.• Reduced overall costs of the business and improved reporting systems both internally and to Tupperware Senior Management• Successfully restructured the size of the business to reflect Tupperware's mold requirements with no disruptions to the day to day operations

To support the CFO Worldwide Operations with financial analysis of operating plans and monthly performance reports from 14 manufacturing units around the world.• Was the lead on a 4 month project to restructure the size of our US manufacturing plant and shift volume to our Mexican manufacturing facility. My involvement was the result of the Financial Controller at the US Plant having to take time off for personal reasons that resulted in his retirement. So I also provided Finance support to the business on a day to day basis during this period.

The migration of month end accounting functions from our business units across Europe to a newly set up Shared Service Centre in Switzerland, and then standardizing them and improving efficiency. The project was not a popular one with the European units so it included getting their buy in and helping them see the benefits.• Developed an Excel file that could take the financial statement information from JD Edwards and submit it into the corporate consolidation software, Longview. This previously was a very manual process that took most business units 2-3 hours to perform. The new automated system reduced that task to an average of 15 minutes, allowing the SSC to do submissions for 25+ businesses on the Wednesday afternoon of month end close, and saving over 50 hours of manual work.• Developed an Excel file used to provide KPI reporting for the Accounts Payable function provided by the SSC for each Business Unit. It took what was previously a very manual task that took the operator 5 days to perform and reduce the task down to half a day.

Help set up an Eastern European Area Finance office reporting to the Eastern European Area CFO. It involved working with the Finance Teams in Eastern European markets setting up reporting systems and assisting them with any finance issues they were having such as major reserves, accruals and justifications for IT system implementations• Developed the Business Case to justify the IT implementation of JD Edwards into our Tupperware Russia business.

To perform Internal Audits on various Tupperware Sales Units, Manufacturing Units and various areas of Corporate, to ensure proper internal controls were in place and Financial Accounts were accurate. It involved working with the local management teams and also reporting back to the Corporate Senior Management.• Developed Internal Audit programs for areas of the Corporation that had not been previously audited, such as Rick Management and Mold Rental.

Responsible for certain finance functions for Tupperware Australia/NZ including supervising accounts payable, maintaining fixed asset register, major promotional accruals and other balance sheet items. Also provided analytical reporting in the success of promotions and was involved in various projects• Was the project lead on the implementation of the GST for the company interactions with our Distributors, for the Distributors themselves and our independent salesforce. This involved leading IT system redevelopment for our internally developed Distributor management system, and also training both our Distributors and Salesforce and how GST would impact them and how they can best manage it. This was done successfully without impacting the sales growth of the business.

Responsible for producing quarterly financial statements for Tupperware Australia's 25+ independent Distributors across the country, and visiting and reviewing these statements and providing business support to them. It also included some basic IT support as well. If Distributors sold their business or were closed down and merged I would also manage the transition of these and close up and accounts related to them.• During this period we changed the accounting software we used to manage the financial information of our Distributors, but I had to develop the P&L and Balance Sheet reports externally to it, plus I added a cash flow report to help the Distributors better understand the difference between profit and cash flow.

Day to day accounting functions including AP, Bank Reconciliations, Commission payments and the full set of financial reports for a small associated business.
