The Black Health Alliance is a community-led registered charity working to improve the health and well-being of Black populations in Canada. As Executive Director, I lead our efforts to build a stronger national charity that is able to ensure that Black children, youth and families have the resources they need to thrive.

REVIVE is a social planning firm based in Toronto.

As a member of the Toronto Community Housing Design Review Panel, I act in an advisory role to Toronto Community Housing staff and development partners. I provide an independent design and planning analysis through the review and critique of: proposed building designs for all residential buildings, market condominiums, rental buildings, public and private facilities, in addition to all site plans, public realm plans, urban design guidelines and master plans for ongoing Toronto Community Housing Revitalization projects - Allenbury Gardens, Leslie Nymark, Alexandra Park, Lawrence Heights, 250 Davenport, Don Summerville and Regent Park.Toronto Community Housing is the largest social housing provider in Canada and the second largest in North America. TCH owned by the City of Toronto and operate in a non-profit manner. TCH has 2,100 buildings and 50 million square feet of residential space represent a $9 billion public asset. TCH homes and communities are in 106 of Toronto's 140 neighbourhoods, providing homes to nearly 60,000 low and moderate-income households. TCH 110,000 residents come from many different backgrounds with a diversity in age, education, language, mental and physical disability, religion, ethnicity and race.

Action Canada is an independent, non-partisan and non-profit organization and charity based in Ontario, Canada. Action Canada and the Public Policy Forum deliver the Action Canada Fellowship, Canada’s top accelerator of new leaders. The Fellowship is a 10-month public policy leadership program that aims to enhance emerging leaders’ understanding of the country and public policy choices for the future.

TAIBU is a Kiswahili word is used as by well-wisher as a greeting that means, “Be in Good Health”. The name encapsulates the vision of TAIBU, which is promoting “healthy, vibrant and sustainable communities creating our own solution.” TAIBU Community Health Centre (CHC) is a multidisciplinary, non-for-profit, community led organization established to serve the Black Community across the Greater Toronto Area as its priority population, by providing comprehensive primary healthcare and health promotion programs and activities. TAIBU is located in the Malvern neighbourhood of Scarborough in Ontario.

Waterfront Toronto is the public advocate and steward of waterfront revitalization. Created by the Governments of Canada and Ontario and the City of Toronto, Waterfront Toronto is mandated to deliver a revitalized waterfront.

As a Youth Opportunities Fund Convener and Facilitator, my role focused on province-wide engagement with Black-led youth collaboratives, and adult champions. I co-facilitated design thinking based 'Idea Labs', and supported young people to build and grow their ideas to address challenges related to economic and social well-being in their communities.The Youth Opportunities Fund (YOF) is an annual program delivered by Ontario Trillium Foundation that provides grants and capacity building supports to youth-led grassroots groups and collaboratives serving young people who face multiple barriers to economic and social wellbeing.

Fellowship involves developing an understanding of and practical application in the fundamentals of fundraising, the solicitation of major gifts, and running effective fundraising campaigns. It also involves professional development in diversity and inclusion to developing an understanding the creation and application of diversity and inclusion plans for organizations. AFP is an association of professionals throughout the world working to advance philanthropy by enabling people and organizations to practice effective and ethical fundraising. The core activities through which AFP fulfills this mission include education, training, mentoring, research, credentialing, and advocacy.

While at Studio [Y] I researched, designed, prototyped, implemented and evaluated group-led and self-directed projects. Established strong cross-sector and community based partnerships to support project design and delivery. Participated in ongoing training sessions, lectures, forums to develop problem solving skills as well as share best practices. Attended networking events to identify prospective partners and develop relationship networks. Studio [Y] is a fellowship offered by MaRS, Canada’s largest innovation hub, for passionate young Ontarians taking on some of the world’s toughest challenges. Selected as one of twenty-five young multi-sector systems leaders and social innovators, Studio [Y] immerses fellows in a rich project-based learning environment. Through intensive training and coaching focusing on multi-sector leadership and systems change, fellows build and refine their leadership and problem-solving practice, learning to develop innovative solutions to complex problems and systems in their communities.

I lead a team of fifteen directors that supervises the affairs and the operations of the organization ensuring effective governance, operational and financial management of the organization. As part of my portfolio, I work with various standing committees to develop and implement policies and procedures aimed to raise the efficacy of the corporation's operations. As Chair I also, I have lead organizational and strategic planning initiatives to build a long-term strategic business plan for the organization, and monitor and assist in the preparation of the annual budget, and in formulating a long-term strategic business plan for the organization.Based in Toronto, Ontario the Canadian Centre for Civic Media & Arts Development owns and operates the market’s first Urban Alternative station on the FM dial, VIBE 1055FM. Our signal broadcasts to a base residential audience of over 1.5 million and offers a varied program schedule showcasing a strong mix of language, culture, lifestyle and spoken-word programming. As a recognized leader in community-driven media, VIBE 1055FM sustains a mass listening audience by working with credible ambassadors of identified causes, musical genres and communities to deliver content that expertly fills the void of local ‘points of view’ and culture absent in media across Canada.

As a Sustainable Development Planner this internship involved supporting activities toward the competition of the St. Elizabeth Sustainable Development Plan and activities emanating from the Greater Treasure Beach Sustainable Development Plan (GTBSDP). As part of my portfolio I undertook data collection, collected and shared best practices and case studies, conducted applied research, and provided input into the design of engagement strategies. I assisted in conducting public and stakeholder consultations, prepared communications tools to engage the local community on an ongoing basis for St. Elizabeth PDC activities and supported activities aimed at advancing the formulation and implementation of secondary plans emanating from the GTBSDP. This took the form of sourcing funding and preparing funding proposals to support initiatives arising from the GTBSDP for implementation and providing technical support to implement GTBSDP initiatives relating to economic development and public spaces, focusing on community-based tourism projects. The Canadian Urban Institute (CUI) is a Toronto-based not for profit organization with a national and international reach. CUI seeks to create a world of thriving, sustainable, harmonious and engaged urban regions. CUI is an innovator and catalyst engaged in research, networking, leadership development, planning and policy solutions to improve the quality of life in urban regions in Canada and around the world. The St. Elizabeth Parish Development Committee (SEPDC) is a community-based, non-government organization with the mandate to act for citizens and communities in local planning processes, and to build institutional capacity within local governments for long-range planning.The Canadian Urban Institute supported the Parish of St. Elizabeth in partnership with the St. Elizabeth Parish Development Committee (SEPDC) to develop and implement local sustainable development planning in the region.

I spent a year with Primary Response assisting in the development of Training Curriculum for Loss Prevention Officers, as well as delivering in class, and on-the-job training to new recruits. Primary Response is a privately-owned Canadian company providing the design, implementation, and management of a complete spectrum of comprehensive private security, investigations and consultant services.

As Campaigns and Equity Assistant I worked with the Vice-President Equity and Campaigns & Equity Coordinator to develop political and equity-based campaigns aimed to raise awareness and address issues of discrimination and oppression on campus. This took the form of drafting resolutions and ‘issues policies’ on various issues pertaining to issues of equity and diversity in the York Federation of Students and Canadian Federation of Students and supporting the Vice President-Equity and Campaigns & Equity Coordinator in promoting both York Federation of Students and Canadian Federation of Students campaigns. The York Federation of Students is York University's undergraduate students' union, representing over 50,000 undergraduate students. The Federation works to serve and support students through advocacy, providing services, and organizing events to enhance the student experience.
