Mr. Baker has been working within the utility sector as a member of the Manitoba Hydro (MH) team for over 17 years. In this period of time he has seen his role within the organization shift from business systems analysis to project management to leadership. The primary focus of his tenure with the organization as a business systems analyst was on SAP systems and their integrated applications including Human Capital Management, Recruitment and Corporate Health & Safety systems. Not content to focus only on the business aspects of the SAP product, and determined to ensure that informed architecture decisions pertaining to the corporate SAP landscape were being made, a move to SAP landscape governance took place where he took on the role of managing system maintenance and enhancement efforts. Project management was the next logical step with Mr. Baker leading MH's initial transition to SAP on HANA. Once successfully delivered, Mr. Baker switched his focus to the Microsoft platform and modernization of the MH MS ecosystem. Kicking off this program paved the way for his move to the leadership team. It allowed for the breadth of Mr. Baker's skill set to be demonstrated; technical delivery through relationship management through thought leadership. As of right now, Mr. Baker is enjoying executing on his mandate of improving MH's technology project delivery practices, standardization across enterprise project delivery functions where possible, and building a team of highly capable project management professionals that execute with tact, humility, and aplomb.
