Key member of Xtrac Inc's Management Team, setting annual sales budgets and strategic direction for the both the Commercial and Engineering personnel. Responsible for rapid growth in sales in a highly technical market, and defining the Technical Specification and direction of complex motorsport products with regard to performance, cost and ease of manufacture. Based in Mooresville to offer direct commercial support to a growing North Carolina customer base, whilst also developing new business in other markets within the USA; offering both standard and highly bespoke/custom transmission solutions to meet customer’s precise requirements. The North Carolina facility has a direct 24hr link to the UK Siemens NX CAE and ERP systems that allows direct contribution to the global business. Given the extent of travel necessary to support the customer base, a huge step forward in live project reporting was implemented using the business PPM software; hence ensuring the multi-site (two continent) project team are provided pertinent information, and can action tasks promptly.

My role was to engineer transmission based products and components primarily for motorsport and military applications; including sportscar gearboxes and differentials, light weight WRC gear clusters, Dakar products, F1 driveline and millitary axles. As a Senior Designer Engineer it was my duty to set high standards of working practices within the Drawing Office and to provide mentoring, guidance and training to allow other Engineers to work effectively. With my responsibilities being to undertaking design and development projects, I become the lead technical contact for both internal design, quality and production reviews, but also external dialog with customers, suppliers and subcontractors for my project group.

Responsible for the planning and design of new marine gearboxes for the pleasure market; from small valve blocks for electrical shifting of existing hydraulic gearboxes, to successfully delivering a completed product from 2D scheme, including 3D modeling of internals and cases, manufacturing support, plan & oversee R&D program and hands-on customer installations and trials in the UK and Italy. During this time I used BS436 and ISO6336 to design spur and helical gears including skewed shaft geometry, and completed shaft calculations and bearing lives as part of Lloyd's approval for commercial marine transmissions.
