Born in 1963, I grew up on an H.M Govt. agricultural research farm in Berkshire & moved to a poultry farm in Essex in 1972, hence my interest in tractors & associated machinery. I attended state schools followed by technical college & agricultural college.During the 1980s I was involved with the design & development of articulated dump trucks whilst working for a firm called M.T. Engineering which later became D.D.T. Engineering, the net result of the products produced by these two firms went on to become a.d.t. brands such as New Holland, Astra, & O & K.In the early 1990s I was involved in regional depot management & sales of John Deere, J.C.B., Massey Ferguson, Case, Merlo & Kverneland farm machinery.I established my own firm, Aardvark Equipment Ltd. in 1999 & developed tractor mounted, P.T.O. driven rock wheel trenching machines initially for sportsturf drainage & irrigation applications, which has now evolved into applications for fibre optic cable & power cable installation on wind farms/solar collector farms.In addition to the development of the rock trenchers at Aardvark Equipment Ltd., I have carried on with the production of M.T. style gravel carts, which has celebrated the 50th anniversary of production in 2022.With the advent & rapid growth of the green energy market over the last 20 years or so, I have been involved with the design, development, manufacture & delivery of electrical duct deployment trailers for civil engineering corporates such as Morgan Sindall Vinci Infrastructures & J. Murphy.As a result of experience gained in heavy equipment design, manufacturing, evaluation & safety, I have lectured in C.E. mark attainment procedures & accreditation in both the U.K. & India to manufacturing companies re. the following E.U. statutes/C.E. regulations: EN 474-1 General procedures.EN 474-5 ExcavatorsEN 474-6 Dump trucksEN 474-10 Trenching machineryKey goals are to strengthen the Aardvark brand identity by selling our specialist equipment to specific user groups in high productivity/reliability project applications.Specialties: I am a key player in a management role re.: bringing new heavy equipment product designs through prototyping & field evaluation to the commercial market, guiding an engineering team from initial concept to finnished product encompassing all the required disciplines to accomplish this; designers, c.n.c. units, welder fabricators, heavy equipment assembly workers, liasing & negotiating with suppliers for best product on time at best net prices & driving the process to completion on schedule.
