C#, SQL Server, WinForms, EntityFramework, JSON, Azure, Contracted to support and improve a crucial application dealing with the processing of lender supplied files reflecting information regarding customers PPI status. Delivered significant improvements in process efficiency through the C# app by more than doubling the number of lenders handled by the automated process significantly reducing the manual handling and speeding up the processing allowing staff to work through sheets in a fraction of the time required for manual processing, often dealing with 100's of sheets a day. I also implemented error checking and validation reporting allowing the processors to find and remedy issues without requiring others intervention again offering sore improvements. Data is loaded from an Excel worksheet via OpenXML libraries and these come in a wide variety of layouts, often subject to change without warning and many have been developed with little or no documentation supplied by the lender. The role included having to liaise with non-technical users regarding problems & requirements.

My position as a Project Leader involves the creation project design briefs and technical design specifications for bespoke developments whilst also actively participating in the development of these and other modifications to the web applications and their integral database structures and procedures. Development takes place with a mixture of VB6 client-server and VB.NET written ASP.NET web applications and web services running from both Informix and Oracle data platforms.Systems are written in both VB.NET 2002 and VB.NET 2003 and have to be both supported and developed on parallel streams to allow the same functionality within both. I am actively involved in the day-to-day support of this client with timely resolution to Live issues encountered being essential.I have to monitor my own and others work levels ensuring prompt and accurate delivery of new projects and this means I have to pro-actively time share between any active Issues that have been assigned to me for investigation and resolution and the continuing live development projects. Developments are performed to tight time-scales requiring accurate work and thorough testing, this involves close communication with the client regarding the day to day progress of these developments. Recent & Current projects includethe introduction of Ajax into portions of our web applications, utilising the Ajax.Net wrapper; a large active project involving multiple 3rd party suppliers all working together designing and developing co-operating systems to deliver an SMS text messaging system for transaction alerting.Migration of our existing code base from a .Net framework 1.1 based Visual Studio 2003 development onto Visual Studio 2005 and a .Net 2.0 framework base.; I took some time out having relocated to Cyprus to settle myself and my family into the new environment before beginning to look for work.

Involving as little downtime for the database as possible as it is responsible for hosting one of the live web-sites.Modifying existing VB6 code to improve maintainability.Re-writing in its entirety a server application to split apart the 2 separate functions of a chat room and quiz engine. The re-write was intended to allow the server(s) to be load-balanced across multiple physical machines. The quiz engine development entailed work involving COM/DCOM and the implementation of asynchronous call-back functions to allow synchronisation across the multiple machines.Modifying existing ASP pages in order to improve maintainability and prevent modifications having to be made upon alterations to the background data.An ASP page hosting a Java applet that communicates with the VB server(s) via direct TCP/IP connection provides the quiz front-end functionality.
