As an embedded Director in a coalition headquarters, led a multinational team to plan all future multinational, interagency and joint service operational activities to maintain the Defeat Daesh in Iraq and Syria. Conducted regular engagement with US Central Command, environmental commands and coalition countries to plan and synchronise effects for the Task Force (approx. 12,000 personnel). Included leading operational planning for risk mitigation activities, contingency planning.

Managed 39 training areas throughout Australia - covering over 27,800 km2, with an operational budget of $35M annually, over 400 permanent staff (military, public service and contracted). Responsible for safety of over 8000 military training activities per year. Directed operational coordination between the States / Territories and Defence for emergency management and ceremonial support - approx. 200 requests for emergency support and 2500 ceremonial requests per year.

Yangon, Myanmar

Responsible for all Defence engagement with Myanmar, including the cooperation program as the sole Defence Diplomatic Representative. In addition to the Tatmadaw (Myanmar Military), forged and maintained relations with a broad network of international partners and agencies.

Afghanistan

Led a multinational team to plan, manage and deliver logistic support for all US unilateral Special Operations activities across Afghanistan. In addition, responsible to advise, assist and enable development of the Afghan Special Operations sustainment system (including support to Afghan operational activities).

Managed primary customer input to all Army Major Systems projects, from soldier systems to tanks, including hospitals etc. Led a staff of 23 personnel overseeing 55 major projects from concepts/needs through to introduction into service in 7 specialist areas, with a total project worth of over $20B. Included; modernisation management for each capability area through development of a strategy linking legacy equipment to replacements under procurement, development of needs documents for future projects, managing changes / value management to realise capability, and being a Tender Evaluation Board member.

Led a School training 2000 trainees a year in vehicle and distribution skills with 110 instructors located on two campuses, one in Victoria and one in North Queensland. Responsible for and managed exported training (conducted by other units) for 6500 licences a year. Focused on Reforming and Modernising training delivery.
