Responsible for up to 762 miles of roads and roadside drainage systems in a large rural area. Estimated the type and quantity of equipment, materials, and labor necessary for completion of assigned work; maintained time and equipment records; confirmed the availability of the proper materials and equipment; and contacted property owners and various agencies with regard to road maintenance and construction activities. Started out as an Assistant Road Worker and was promoted multiple times to achieve the role of Sr. Road Worker. Led a crew of up to 10 to perform road maintenance. Inspected roads for maintenance required including patching and resurfacing, preparing sub-grades, installing culverts, and cleaning roadside ditches. Operated the largest and most complex heavy road construction and maintenance equipment, including but not limited to, bulldozers, drag lines, backhoes, graders, mowers, rollers, tree trimming equipment, flatbed trucks, aerial boom trucks, water trucks, skid steer loader, skip loader, and paint trucks.
