Project Management and Design of Additively Manufactured Aerospace components.

Worked in a small, 8-person P&L responsible for all technical and commercial aspects related to large, complex, industrial machinery. Due to the size of the group, I’m responsible for a wide range of tasks outside of those typically completed by an engineer or project manager. Some of the tasks I’ve carried out are summarized below:Project Management – responsible for managing multiple, complex, international projects with a value greater than $10 million USD. Full commercial and technical ownership of projects, performed nearly every role required to execute project ahead of schedule and budget. R&D/NPI Program Management – responsible for leading, managing and executing global, high visibility, cost reduction and design improvement projects with aggressive timelines and challenging targetsMechanical Design and Analysis – Design engineer responsible for creating everything from new, revolutionary designs of machinery to detailed analysis of components, minor design improvements as well as analysis, repair/improvement of field failures/design challenges as well as development, checking and approval of designsProject and Manufacturing Engineering - Responsible for understanding Customer Technical Specifications, selecting material/components, generating purchase orders/specifications, working with Vendors, optimizing manufacturing processes, identifying new manufacturing techniques, supporting shop and sub-vendor quality improvement projects and managing project qualityCommissioning and Field Support – Provided direction to Field Engineers and Global Customers in regards to start up and troubleshooting of equipmentFEA and CAD software Key User – Responsible for upkeep/management of software and licenses, training and support of usersLeader of reverse engineering/3D inspection activities and owner of related tools Gained experience working in and leading international teams remotely while surrounded by a constantly changing environment

-Leader of R&D efforts for R&D carbide saw product line-Performed lab testing on new designs and materials using industry leading tools and software -Supported development of innovative manufacturing techniques and machinery-Developed new designs and materials for saw products -Worked with customers to develop application specific designs -Gained experience working in world class manufacturing facility

• Responsible for new high value, high visibility, short lead time design of parts for power plants • Management and leadership of design for OOEM Pulverizer R&D projects • Primary ANSYS user, responsible for upkeep of licenses, training of engineering department • Leader of reverse engineering activities, owner of reverse engineering tools• Provide technical training and coaching to younger engineers, designers and tech service engineers • Perform technical sales support and business development • Lead cost savings initiatives between engineering and manufacturing facilities.

-Responsible for everything from new product development, commissioning, testing, quality, rebuilds to reverse engineering of competitor’s equipment in field. -Performed mechanical design, stress analysis and detailing/BOM development for parts and assemblies-Designed high value/high risk equipment with a system based approach where thermal properties, fluid flows, mechanical properties and kinematics need to be balanced for maximum efficiency-Extensive time spend working hand-on at customer’s sites and in company manufacturing facilities-Provided technical support to field service staff and customers-Responsible for investigation of any failures and further improvement-Provided sales support as well as business development-Developed design guides and instructions manuals-Managed 20+ on-going internal projects at same time
