As a systems administrator in a two man IT department, my duties have an extremely wide range. I may be building new virtual servers on a Hyper-V host in the morning and installing a scanner in the afternoon. With 15 servers and nearly 135 workstations under my charge, the break/fix opportunities are boundless. 9 months into my career at Fireproof and loving it. Adding new skills everyday. I am becoming much more proficient in Active Directory, and a Windows domain style environment. Maintaining user's and computer rights to ensure security. Adding many specialty skills like Kaseya VSA implementation and administration, digitization and scanning suites like VSR and Psi:Capture, Symantec Backup Exec, and Trend Officescan. I have installed a Graylog2 syslog server to optimize log analysis from our multitude of firewalls and switches. I have also added 2 Snort IDS to monitor traffic and maximize my ability to secure our customers data.

Network+ Certified Provide support in planning, building and installing new systems, upgrading existing systems, backup solutions, disaster recovery, malware removal, and application selection and installation for a diverse client base of over 200. Efficiently and accurately diagnose hardware/software deficiencies utilizing vendor manuals, vendor/non-vendor specific forums, FAQ pages, Microsoft Knowledge Base website, and brainstorming with team members to solve problems. Exhibits proficiency at time management to address requests for technical support minimizing user downtime. Experienced at system administration including maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation and follow up to ensure system stability. Repair and upgrade existing computer systems by troubleshooting symptoms as indicated by user and any witnessed on site. This includes replacement of hardware and software reconfigurations. Build custom computers specific to the needs of the client including Windows and Linux based workstations and LAMP servers with multiple clients. Upgrade system components including motherboards, RAM, video cards, hard drives, optical drives, and power supplies retaining accurate records of all work done and parts used to insure proper billing. Networking experience with home networks sharing a single broadband internet connection with shared peripherals as well as LAMP servers with multiple clients utilizing SAMBA for filesharing, SSH for remote administration, SFTP for controlled remote access, role based security protocols, and internal web based ERP and CRM software.
