I am a recent Software Engineering graduate with an interest in web-application developer role. I graduated from The Pennsylvania State University’s World Campus with a Master’s Degree in Software Engineering and I obtained a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University at University Park. I would be excited to work as a web-application developer because I enjoyed gaining hands-on experience developing a React web-application for my graduate school capstone project. For my capstone course, I used an agile-like approach to conceive and develop a web-application utilizing React.js, Node.js, Visual Studio Code, GitHub, DevOps, Jest, and AWS. My capstone project required a three-man team to conceive and develop a minimum viable software product over the course of 4 three-week sprints. I chose to develop a timesheet keeping web-application utilizing React. The team used GitHub, DevOps, and MS Teams for version control, progress tracking, and communication. Throughout each sprint each team member was required to develop software requirements, software architecture, UI prototypes, test cases, progress/test reports, and product demos. On top of the weekly documentation for each sprint, I developed Final Documentation for the final version of the minimum viable product. The product final documentation included Software Requirements Specifications, Software Architecture and Design Documentation, Software Testing Report, and Software End-User Documentation. Currently, I work at Psych Choices of the Delaware Valley in Broomall, PA. Here, I utilize Microsoft 365 and Visual Basic for Applications to develop programs that facilitate administrative tasks and generate analytical reports. In addition to the VBA programming language utilized at my current job and JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 utilized for React projects, I am experienced writing with Python, Java, R, LabVIEW, and MATLAB/Simulink due to a plethora of data analysis and electrical engineering courses. I would be an excellent web-application developer not only due to my skills and experience, but also due to my desire to learn and be challenged.
