Graduate Teaching Assistant
Graduate teaching assistant for ENGO 501 - Field Surveys in the Department of Geomatics Engineering at the University of Calgary. Directed the static GNSS/precise levelling exercise during the course including one week of online preparation exercises and one week of field observations. This is a fourth-year undergraduate course designed to test the knowledge and skills that students have gained throughout their degree program, in a more realistic project setting than is experienced in their previous surveying courses. This course was significantly adjusted due to the restrictions placed on in-person coursework caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, including changing locations from the Barrier Lake Field Research Station to the University of Calgary main campus. As a result, rapid adaptations were required to overcome the challenges of previously untested field procedures involving social distancing and rapid disinfecting of equipment.
