As English is the second language of many of the editors, I also helped them develop their natural English language skills by conducting training assessments and providing answers to any language-based queries they may have, both via email and via conference calls on Skype. - Updating guidelines to keep our House Style Guide up to date and accurate. I was promoted to Level 2 in this role after a year at the company, and as such, I took responsibility for the overall quality of the technical editor teams in Mumbai. I worked on implementing new procedures to improve the hiring process of technical editors and the quality of training we provided both new hires and established editors to ensure the quality of their work is of a consistently high level.As Packt are a multi-national company who publish hundreds of books per year, this role required excellent organisational skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines, effective time management skills, and the ability to prioritise workloads.
