Performs a variety of electronic and technical assignments on data communications equipment and systems. Completes terminal troubleshooting using appropriate diagnostic equipment. Duties within the Lucent 5ESS network included building, integrating, and upgrading over 200 cellular sites. Troubleshooting included testing T1s by attempting to remotely loop the customer’s NI & CSU using the 1631 DACS & T-berd 224. Also responsible for alarm surveillance of six Alcatel 600E switches spanning the Western Coast. Coordinated technicians to service and troubleshoot alarms. Engineering within the 600E switch involved implementation of trunks, upgrading of the switch, rerouting trunks, and calling areas and updating ANIs and LNPs.

Responsible for troubleshooting, installing, cross connecting and testing DS0s, DS1s, and DS3s to meet specifications of circuit layout records. Successfully performed testing on hundreds of DS1 and DS3 circuits with Pac Bell using the Titan 5500 Digital Access Cross Connect System. Engineered the cross-connects electronically while physically wiring each DS1 & DS3. Some exposure working with Northern Telecom OC-48 and Lucent OC-3 equipment.
