My research and work areas are in the experimental vibration and earthquake engineering studies of critical structures such as power plants, buildings, dams, piping, and mechanical equipment. At ANCO I have designed and fabricated over 200 research and public education shake tables installed worldwide. This includes mechanical and servo-hydraulic design, table control systems, and data acquisition display and processing systems. I design and use eccentric mass vibrators for modal testing of full scale civil structures, isolation systems, tuned mass dampers, and structural dampers. I'm also an adjunct professor in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
