Managing the security of approximately 45 retail stores across the south of England, my responsibilities included scheduling personnel within agreed budget and spending rotas. Regular contact with Client Managers to ensure compliance and address any identified issues or breaches in behaviour. Driving the areas KPI’s through the implementation of action plans and performance reviews. Conducting interviews and processing new recruits upto and including inductions once in post in co-operation with the client. Overseeing Risk Assesments and regular Health and Safety reviews to meet contractual requirements.

Assigned to a specific beat area, duties undertaken included high visibility patrols to engage with local communities and groups to enable breaking down of barriers and improved relationships with the Police. Investigating crimes including providing victim support and re-assurance whilst conducting local enquiries such as CCTV and house to house. Updating crime reports and gathering and submitting intelligence reports. Proactive visits to schools and community groups to provide presentations on varying different topics including Personal Safety, Drugs and Child Exploitation online. Responding to ongoing Incidents such as Road Traffic Collisions, Anti-Social Behaviour, Concerns for Welfare and Missing Persons. Assisting with the execution of warrants and scene preservations, traffic and motor offences including issuing of fixed penalty notices and summons to Courts. Integral to this role was continued and effective partner agency working with local Housing Associations, Councils and Mental Health Teams.

Specialising in Tree Surgery and Landscaping I took responsibilty for ensuring the safety of the general public and my colleagues operating at heights. Working on the maintenance, pruning and felling of dead, diseased or dangerous trees. I also supervised and undertook regular hard landscaping projects seeing them through all phases from the initial surveying and setting out to the construction and completion. Refining my skills in paving, walling and working with mortar. My role also included regular maintenance of both Yew and Boxwood topiary for several discerning clients.

Responsibilities included maintaining and arranging plant areas, taking in new stock and and assisting with seasonal changeover displays of both plants and dry goods. I also took charge over the maintenance of the wider site including recreational areas and the installation of new pathways throughout the plantstock areas. This became integral to my role as the site expanded and I became instrumental in overseeing the infrastructure of the expansion and ongoing maintenance of the site and grounds. This included lawn, hedge and shrub maintenance to ensure continued aesthetic standards for the visiting public. I also assisted regularly with outside contracting which included the supply and planting of trees and shrubs, planting preparation and ongoing maintenance.
