This program allocated over $250,000 to local businesses during the height of the pandemic to help local businesses with payroll, rent, and utility costs. The program funded 52 businesses with only six not surviving.Created, implemented, and managed the Business Relocation Incentive for businesses affected by the TXDOT project of expanding SH146. Funds were used to retain businesses affected by highway expansion and required to move. Created semi-annual reports to City Council on accomplishments and project updates. Created, presented, and negotiated Economic Development's annual budget to City Council.Applied for and received funding from the Houston-Galveston Area Council on the Livable Centers Grant Program to create a study and implementation plan for the Old Seabrook District. Value of grant was $194,000. Involved with managing consulting team, coordinating public input, agendas, budgets, and final report to City Council.Local success stories that I worked to land in Seabrook include Americano Cafe, Seabrook Waffle Company, Seabrook House of Flowers, and Mario's Pizza. Beyond small business development, I worked with international firms such as KIWO and Transwestern on their site selection and business expansion into the city- generating significant employment and increased value to the tax rolls.
