Initiate, develop and maintain programs to encourage the retention and expansion of existing businesses and industries within the city.Partner with City Council to inform the residents of impending strategies or activities that may impact the City of Stafford community; makes presentations to City Council and SEDC, private or public partners to encourage local business development.Represent the City at events and functions by networking with commercial constituents, including business prospects, brokers, investors, developers, and property owners.Research, develop and distributes economic development data and reports; prepares and maintains updated statistical data on related business & industry.

Greatest achievement - landing Compass by Margaritaville to Seabrook. This $172 million project is slated to begin in 2024 and will bring over 300 jobs, provide a significant boost in sales tax, property tax revenue, and increase city’s visibility for new developments.Created, implemented, and managed the City's COVID Business Incentive Program. This program allocated over $250,000 to local businesses during the height of the pandemic to help local businesses with payroll, rent, and utility costs. The program funded 52 businesses with only six not surviving.Created, implemented, and managed the Business Relocation Incentive for businesses affected by the TXDOT project of expanding SH146. Funds were used to retain businesses affected by highway expansion and required to move. Created semi-annual reports to City Council on accomplishments and project updates. Created, presented, and negotiated Economic Development's annual budget to City Council.Applied for and received funding from the Houston-Galveston Area Council on the Livable Centers Grant Program to create a study and implementation plan for the Old Seabrook District. Value of grant was $194,000. Involved with managing consulting team, coordinating public input, agendas, budgets, and final report to City Council.Local success stories that I worked to land in Seabrook include Americano Cafe, Seabrook Waffle Company, Seabrook House of Flowers, and Mario's Pizza. Beyond small business development, I worked with international firms such as KIWO and Transwestern on their site selection and business expansion into the city- generating significant employment and increased value to the tax rolls.

Overall accomplishment: directly involved with scouting, negotiations, and landing 21 specialty chemical companies to the Bay Area Houston region. All projects combined created over $900 million in capital investments and 1,400 jobs in primary and supporting industries.Managed CRM for marketing department. Crafted reports and presentations on projects to board of directors on a monthly basis.Created and presented annual reports on projects, prospects, and marketing efforts to BAHEP board of directors, Harris County, City of Houston, and member cities in the Bay Area Houston region. Networked at industry specific tradeshows across the United States and in Mexico.Provided data collection support to other departments for proposals and presentations. Coordinated schedules, presented, and followed up with legislative meetings in Washington, DC and Austin, Texas on behalf of the specialty chemical and aerospace industry.
