Self-Employed Consulting Engineer. Responsible for structural design from concept to detailing, cost estimating, tendering and field review. Worked on hundreds of projects, including a residential development in Shanghai, China and numerous projects in Ontario, including a medical centre and a condominium in Cobourg; a music school/performing arts centre in Guelph; a fire station in Blind River; and overhead box girder cranes used in TransCanada Pipelines remote compressor stations. Designed the polar crane used to construct the top half of the heavy water sphere at the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory. Investigated and designed emergency repairs after the December, 1995, collapse of a portion of the Station Mall in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Designed a number of specialized structures including a lamprey trap for the St. Mary’s River, a mobile rock-climbing instruction tower, and outdoor sculptures
