In this role, as the lead systems engineer and architect for AFRL’s digital transformation, I designed, and built a complex multi-security level, multi-domain information system. This system integrates an Everfox (formerly Forcepoint) Trusted Thin Client Remote Cross-Domain Solution (CDS), bi-directional file transfer CDS's, and a Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) solution, thus transforming how AFRL researchers use on-premises and cloud environments. It supports secure collaboration and isolated environments as needed, which will allow AFRL to greatly reduce their networks and various ATO boundaries. I managed subcontractors for high-value installation projects, selected hardware and software, negotiated with OEMs and VARs to save ~$1M, and oversaw $15M in equipment procurement. I also lead a team of engineers, system administrators, and security experts in building, implementing, and securing the system.

I led a 5-member team of government contractors who acted as Information System Security Officers and System Administrators and together we manage secure facilities and information systems in accordance with the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other applicable regulations and security controls. I designed and engineered 5 independent secure domains from the ground up and wrote the ATO packages and other Risk Management Framework documents and guides. I selected all hardware and security software requirements and implementations for the 5 domains, negotiated pricing and agreements with multiple vendors saving more than $165K off of previously negotiated corporate agreements. I instituted a service request priority matrix and worked with 30+ program managers to ensure the sites entire security team was able to effectively and efficiently meet all of their requirements on time.

I was the Superintendent of the Air Force Institute of Technology Communications and Information Directorate., responsible for a $30M educational domain that supports 6 graduate schools and 2,500+ users. During my time there, I led a virtual desktop modernization in support of new COVID-19 operations, built/restored an ePolicy Orchestrator server that had been inoperable for 2 years, facilitated a $400K backup and recovery system replacement, and implemented, tested, and selected security controls for a Microsoft Office 365 migration.

Davis-Monthan Afb, Arizona

I led a 30 member, 3 work center team of Systems Administrators supporting an Air Operations Center. I directed cyber operations for a $55 Million Weapon System and deliver Command and Control for a 15.6 million square mile area of responsibility. I managed upgrades, maintenance, troubleshooting, and analysis of 200 servers, both physical and virtual. As well as oversee the closure of trouble tickets on 3 classified networks. I led the Air Force's first deployment of an Air Operations Center Weapon Systems revision, corrected build discrepancies, and established the blueprint for the revisions for future installations at 25 other locations. I identified a requirements oversight from the Systems Program Office, paused the purchase then drafted a revised request for quote and prevented a $5.3M purchase error.While deployed during this period, I managed an Air Force Central Command domain and performed ACAS Scans, SCCM deployments, and led the network control center team that achieved the best cyber readiness 365 posture of the 11 AFCENT sites. I was recognized and the Wing SNCO of the quarter and my team won the installation team of the month award.

Stuttgart Germany

I led a 33 member joint service deployable help desk team for the Defense Intelligence Agency. This team maintained and administrated a $75M Department of Defense Intelligence Information System. I provided communications support for 3 Combatant Commands. Deployed technicians to over 120 remote sites located throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. Directed hardware and software support requests for over 5,000 Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System customers. I oversaw the installation teams for the U.S. European Command's Joint Cyber Cell and the $28M U.S. Africa Command's Joint Operations Center. Additionally, I resolved an ongoing 3-year circuit installation delay and guided the creation and activation of a new $220K NATO Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility.

I directed executive administration and client service support to the Commander, Vice Commander, Headquarters staff, and 4 Wings. Developed and implemented Information Management policies and procedures. Designed a new storage area network security architecture, trained Information Assurance Officers, and eliminated 150 security vulnerabilities. Additionally, I maintained a secure video teleconference suite and cryptographic devices.

Served as a liaison to provide logistical support to 7,200+ Distinguished Visitors annually, including lodging, transportation, dinners, and ceremonies, policy guidance, and expert protocol advice to the commander, the Headquarters staff, 5 wings, and 52 tenant units.

I provided total communications support for 104 senior military officers located at two Air Force bases. Delivered IT support for distinguished visitors. Managed, NIPR and SIPR domains, mobile communications, video teleconferences, and virtual private networks. I led an Air Force test program that implemented a Good Mobile Messaging solution for the utilization of iPhone and iPad mobile devices. Directed Personal Wireless Communications Services and led an account audit that identified excess use, corrected overages, and saved the Air Force $144K annually on cellular service plans.

System administrator for two classified networks and maintained 23 Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance mission servers. Oversaw software upgrades, file system maintenance, file permission management, and system security audits. Provided user administration for 16 classified mission systems.

Directed national missile, space, and air warning system operations at the DoD's only Systems Control Center. Lead emergency recovery of national warning systems during critical outages in accordance w/ CJCS directives. Trained both US and Canadian personnel to manage 21 systems, control 600+ circuits, and execute 100+ checklists.

Created and updated lesson plans, task performance checklists, and maintained accountability of trained personnel. Directly supervised 13 Airmen and provided daily oversight for more than 150. Performed as a member of a unique and selectively manned unit that represented the Air Force, and supports nationwide recruiting and public relations efforts. Performed in ceremonies for the President of the United States, foreign heads of state, and Joint Services to include; Presidential Inaugurations, State, Official and Air Force Funerals, AF and JS Wreath Laying ceremonies at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and distinguished visitor arrivals and departures at the Pentagon and the White House.
