TS3 provide transaction processing and management services for a number of organisations including several banks both in the UK and abroad. These transactions are primarily credit and debit card transactions from point of sale terminals and online transactions. My role is to provide technical support for the hardware, software and infrastructure of all IT related systems. My duties include the installation and support of the hardware and software for a number of MS Server 2003 and 2008 servers, as well as several Linux servers. I am also responsible for the network infrastructure. This role includes network infrastructure management using Cisco firewalls and routers, remote access management, security and general troubleshooting of these devices and their connections. One of the main roles I fulfil is to achieve and maintain Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) with regards the security of the systems and networks.

My position at Peoples was varied and interesting. I provided technical support for all IT related operations including hardware and software support for workstations, servers and telecommunications. I was responsible for three sites in Scotland, and partially responsible for three sites in the Liverpool area. My day to day duties involved administering and troubleshooting the Citrix Presentation Server 3 farm which provided the company with its main desktop applications. I also maintained, and supported the email system which was running MS Exchange 2003. Active Directory and group policies are also a major part of my support role as the system used Active Directory as its network structure. On a daily basis I also supported the client systems which consisted mainly of thin clients using Windows CE or Windows XP Embedded. My responsibilities additionally involve network security using firewalls, web filtering and mail filtering tools.

During this period I was working for Compel, an authorised Compaq reseller who provide IT support for a wide variety of business' including British Energy, Scottish Electricity Settlements Ltd. Abbey National Financial Service and many others. I provided a variety of support to these customers ranging from Systems Administration at Scottish Electricity Settlements Ltd. to hardware support at Abbey National. I was responsible for six sites, with some others when necessary.

Various short-term contracts which involved the installation of various types of hardware and software. Installing and supporting MS windows and Office products, Novell 4.11 servers and applications. Used a wide variety of network options, including Ethernet, Token Ring and Ethertalk over TCP/IP and IPX/SPX.

OKI are one of the leading printer and fax manufacturers in the world. My duties included the testing of all new printer products and drivers. I dealt with many technical support issues with customers and salesmen. I also helped to develop and investigate new technologies, particularly networking and colour products. My position also required me to support the PC's, network and Intranet for our department. I gained a lot of excellent experience with a wide variety of hardware and software.
