Through Breakthrough Communications, I am currently consulting for a software development team in a major international financial agency. Learning new technologies, sorting out and creating needed documentation, applying my Agile Scrum experience.

When Assurant categorized the projects I was assigned to betwen 2011 and March, 2018 as "end-of-life," I decided to return to consulting, something I did for eight out of my thirty-eight years' experience as a professional technical writer and trainer. Past clients have included NCR, AT&T, Nationwide Insurance, Cincinnati Life, Tulane University, Lexis-Nexis, and many others. Most of my work has been in software development organizations, but my experience includes documentation and training in banking, healthcare, retail, data networking, and K-12 textbook editing. Recently I trained over a hundred Assurant employees and consultants on Mortgage Processing Outplacement business models and on Agile development, most specifically Agile Scrum.

Updated core technical documentation for a massive NCR retail software project upgrade. Trained and led a team of 10 RoboHelp developers converting over a thousand J.P. Morgan Chase policy and procedure documents to HTML for an internal JPMC resource site. Other projects for various clients on an ongoing basis.

Documenting and training employees on software for processing hazard insurance on mortgaged properties. Scoping documentation requirements, tracking development and migration efforts, using Robohelp, Sharepoint, Word, etc. depending on audience. Training employees in Agile development approaches.

Using custom HTML environments to document the user interface for software development kits to allow legal offices to incorporate Lexis/Nexis document searches into their user interface, also documenting custom program calls to allow specialized search sites to publish detailed information about attorneys and law offices from lawyers.com and martindale.com.

• Assumed leadership of three large technical documentation projects.
