As a young marketing professional, I have spent a lot of time preparing for my role as a marketer. I began my college education in 2020 through the pandemic crisis. Without having a particular career path decided, I chose to major in Business Mangement because it would at least provide me the basic skills to work almost anywhere. Despite the external struggle of COVID and the internal struggle of an uncertain career to work towards, I pushed through my first year and continued my education. In the first semester of my sophomore year, I took my first marketing class and fell in love with the field. My first introductory marketing course was a source of joy to me and I looked forward everyday to my next marketing class. By the end of the semester I was absolutely convinced that this was the future path for me, and added it to my management concentration as a second major. During this year, I was also taking a PR class where I volunteered to help with my college's alumni event team. It was during this program where I met my future manager while attending one of the booth's during on of the event nights. I was offered a position as an Inside Sales rep. I accepted and began my first office job where I learned much about sales, marketing, and what it meant to work in an office under a manager and working with a team. I continued this job and my education for over a year before taking everything I'd learned and used it to apply for a position that interested me very much. After a difficult round of interviews, I landed the position I coveted, an internship with Cvent as a marketing analyst beginning in the summer before my Senior year in 2023. Being a much bigger corporation than the former company I worked for, I had a lot to learn and worked in a much faster environment and culture with higher standards. I continued to excel, and my hard work payed off with a full time position being offered for me after I graduated in 2024. With my graduation in May and official transition to an associate role in September, I have continued to hone my education and skills. I aspire to become a more powerful marketer through working on my technical and business skills in my position to continue to climb towards my goal of being a master marketing professional.
