This role is responsible for the development and delivery of the AFL and AFLW National Talent High Performance Program, this includes: Management of the AFL and AFLW Rising stars program including the NAB AFL and AFLW and State Academies (Under 18s and Under 16s levels) through the leadership of State based High Performance Managers Development and implementation of the medical monitoring program, physical testing and recording protocols for the AFL and AFLW Combineso Draft Combines at National and state levelso Mid-season drafto U16 & U18 State Combines o U18 state Academy Hubs o International Combines Management of the National Athlete Management System (Smartabase)  Leadership of the National talent industry standards and guidelines through the evolution of the State Academy structure

• Coordinate the State Academy’s S&C, Recovery and Rehab. Program – VFL, Metro or Country squads.• Maintain a relationship with the AIS/AFL Academy S&C coaches to better manage players moving between National, State and TAC Cup and school teams.• Develop a monthly / yearly layout of State training commitments, loads and dates to enable TAC Cup S&C coaches to better plan their training schedules. • Develop a working relationship with each TAC Cup and State S&C coach to open lines of communication in relation to athletes in both State and TAC cup squads.• Monitor state wide weekly number of games played – including State / TAC / school.• Be responsible for the management, development and compliance to the national monitoring database- SMARTABASE.• Co-ordinate TAC Cup Fitness Testing Day as well as State academy’s U/16’s, women’s and multicultural testing.o Provide feedback to states about the physiological make-up of their squad in comparison to state averages.o Provide initial and ongoing feedback to State High Performance Managers and selectors on physiological abilities of prospective state players.o Set up a state database to track fitness test results from U16s through to U18s to monitor individual / region and also state trends.• Control, manage and continual develop GPS Benchmarking and Feedback • Provide regions with access to GPS units for training and matches.• Up-skill State Academy Coaches, TAC Cup and VFL S&C coaches in the use of GPS technology.• Develop a State Academy GPS database for both training sessions and matches;o Provide positional and player comparison across the state,o Provide individual player feedback / learning.• Deliver education sessions to the State Academy’s on dealing with stress, anxiety, depression and resilience as well as being assigned a welfare officer for the AFL.
