I am a soon to be graduating Senior attending Enloe Magnet High School who will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services. Also, I am the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the nonprofit Divergent Minds, an NC State Summer Youth Intern from July 2017 to August 2017, a member of the Burroughs Welcome Program/Fund and Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) Triangle Chapter.As I move to higher level education, I plan on using the experiences I’ve had to not only move me forward but to also positively impact and encourage others through my nonprofit. With this, I have done and am continuing a computer drive within my school through my nonprofit and the Enloe Engineering Club, which I am the Secretary of. When doing this I organized meetings with the Kramden Programs Director Ms. Cari DelMariani so I could get advice on how to run the drive.As someone who has given sermons and speeches, I am well experienced in interpersonal communication and can use this skill to communicate ideas and information well to others apart of a team. With that being said, I can also use this skill for presentations to inform large groups of people about said ideas and information.From my history of being on leadership positions like the board of the clubs Fellowship of Christian Eagles (FCE) and the Enloe Engineering Club, I’ve learned how to plan/schedule long-term ideas and projects and act upon them. My favorite thing to do is spend time with others and build meaningful and close relationships that will help add value to our lives. These relationships can be anything from having small but great conversations with associates, to spending time and going out to eat with close friends I’ve known for years.In the future, I aspire to balance between my nonprofit and career within the Computer Science field (both of which I am very passionate about) to further humanity.
