Main Purpose of Job:Responsible for the management of Milton Keynes council street lighting maintenance contract. Day to day co-ordination and supervision of all street lighting/road traffic sign maintenance work, dealing with operational employee and client enquiries as they arise. To organise and direct resources in the management of highway electrical street lighting and road traffic sign installation.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Programme and co-ordinate resources, obtain materials and services and sub-contract work to ensure continuous utilisation of labour, plant and materials and completion of tasks on time.Plan and programme tasks, check and supervise works activities, monitor progress and expenditure to ensure satisfactory commercial performance of the working teams.Ensure that works are carried out in accordance with contract terms and conditions, recording any changes to scope in the approved format.Manage personnel to obtain the best output and ensure smooth running of the contracts.Maintain good industrial relations with the labour force; deal with personnel matters so that men are well motivated and perform satisfactorily.Monitor performance and cost data; operate the management systems, process management information so that decisions made are soundly based.Manage & participate in the preparation of estimates, bids & tenders. Monitor labour, plant and material costs and update unit costs for carrying out work.Ensure safe working practices and health and safety at work requirements. To carry out Tool Box Talks and Safety Audits in accordance with the companies health & safety policy.Responsible for good relationships with clients; attend to their requests for action and complete work to their satisfaction so as to obtain payment for output.Registered NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor.
