Reporting to the General Manager, Networks I was responsible for the management of the Network Operations team in SA/NT/ACT and the performance of the OPTUS network. This was achieved through the delivery of services to customers and the resolution of trouble tickets in the network meeting and exceeding KPI's and targets for delivery and restoration. Financial management was also a key aspect of this role, managing a multi-million dollar budget. Through diligent management I successfully met the service KPI's whilst also achieving a budget surplus over 2 consecutive years.

Reporting to the Manager, Operations SA/NT and ACT the position of Group Leader, Customer Assurance SA/NT is responsible for the leadership and management of a team of engineers who perform routine, preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance within the Optus network infrastructure in SA/NT.

Non-executive director of DBYD, a not-for-profit organisation. Held the position of Vice-Chairman of the board for since 2011.I was also a member of the Audit, Finance and Risk committee, providing recommendations to the National board on those matters.

Initially invovled in network design and deployment of a Nortel SDH and a Nokia SDH network. Later involved in the deployment and commissioning of a meshed Nortel PP8010 network. The PP8010 (aka PP8600) incorporated a TLS (transparent LAN) network which overlayed the conventional GigE.Once the network was deployed I was involved in the establishment of a Network Management Centre to faciliate the management of the aforementioned networks. Later, the network grew to provide regional based services using 3rd party providers for the last mile and a regionally based radio backhaul network delivery voice and data services.

Installed and maintained optical transmission equipment, cisco switches/routers and worked on Siemens EWSD ISDN exchange.

Worked as a senior flight instructor, teaching ab-initio, navigation, Night VFR etc. Qualifications include Australian Commercial Pilot Licence, Grade 1 Flight Instructor (Fixed Wing), Multi-Engine Training Approval, Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine NVFR and Aerobatic Rating.
