At First Mode I lead creative multi-disciplinary engineering teams developing practical decarbonisaton solutions for heavy haulage in mining and transport. I joined this company to learn more about hydrogen and space hardware (and I've learned a bit about both), but now I'm excited and committed to our pivot to heavy haulage decarbonisation, and participating in the clean energy transition.I love to learn about new technology and imagine ways for it to positively impact on stakeholders and the world.The best part of this role is the ability combine my 30+ years experience in technology, aerospace, energy markets, and advanced product development to guide and empower talented teams to achieve outstanding results, and work with customers to find creative solutions,I have been enormously fortunate in my career to have worked with a string of amazing teams and individuals in organisations like Thales, nearmap, Independent Market Operator WA, Spookfish/EagleView, and now, First Mode. I am an open and consultative leader, a team builder, critical thinker, questioner, and communicator. I enjoy solving meaningful problems, developing and empowering teams who can do things that I can't, discovering opportunities, and delivering on well thought out plans.
