Designed and implemented an intranet application which is used by doctors, nurses, surgeons etc. to gather critical information about the injuries and progression of trauma patients admitted to A&E. Existing patient information was also pulled into the system by connecting to a Trust web service, which used HL7 (Health Level 7, a framework used worldwide for sharing, transferring and integrating electronic health information) to transfer the data. All this data was then subsequently serialised into XML, validated against an XSD and transferred to the Government’s system via an ASMX SOAP web service. This application helped the Trust meet the guidelines set out by the Government around the capturing and sharing of data for trauma patients.Design and implemented an intranet application to allow Psychiatrists to electronically complete mandatory surveys to document information relating to private and group sessions they’ve undergone with their patients’ and store the results as XML. A lite Winforms version was also written and installed onto kiosks for patients to complete quick surveys as they left sessions.
